Making Money from Websites and Blogs

There are so many opportunities that are opening up for bloggers to earn an income from or through their blogging. I’ve long advised that bloggers seeking to earn an income from blogging spread their interests across multiple revenue streams so as not to put all their eggs in one basket. The wonderful thing is that this is becoming easier and easier to do 2007 has seen many options opening up. I thought I’d take a look at some of the ways that bloggers are currently making money through blogs.
Feel free to comment!

Get Paid to Blog

These are sites that PAY you to write content and put links in your blog.
There are sites that pay you to:1.copy and paste an ad with a link.2.re-word a web release with a link in your blog.3.write, videotape or sing something about a product or service with a link in your blog to the client's site.

Blogitive Tutorial
This link explains what you need to do to make money with Blogitive. I also posted the amount of money I made in 3 days...$125.00! What do I like the most about them? They pay weekly by paypal!

Blogging Ads Tutorial
This site allows you to copy and paste the ad, then they pay you...the next day! You must have a paypal account.

PayPerPost Tutorial
This site pays you to provide content and links in your blog to a client's site. They may ask for a photo, a video tape, audio or written content to create a buzz about a product or service. They pay thirty days after you post. You must have a paypal account. There are other requirements, just read the tutorial.

Blogsvertise Tutorial
This is a fairly new site. I just signed up, completed an offer and was approved for payment in three days. They pay after 30 days by paypal! Follow the link for more details.

BuzzByBlog.com
A site that pays to blog. You place links in your blog, write about 50-60 words and get paid (by paypal) within 5 days. Read the tutorial for more information!

CREAMaid
This is the newest site to enter the "get paid to blog" scene. What sets this one apart? Once you post your entry and it's accepted, you get payment by paypal within 24 hours! They require that you post a widget on your entry that displays other participant's entries. This brings everyone FREE traffic! I received traffic from Korea, Japan and Latin America. The widget you must click has McDonald's ads on it. It says the company's name on the lower right hand side: CREAMaid!

InBlogAds
A new site that pays you to blog about a product or site and provide a link in your blog. They can also use them to sell ad space on the sidebar of your blog, for 60% of the sale price. Follow the link for more information.

Review Me
This new company was launched on Nov.9! They pay between $20.00-$200.00 for a review! Submit your blog. Once you are accpeted and receive an offer, you must write a post with a minimum of 200 words. You can receive payment by check or paypal. They pay on the first of every month. This is the highest paying company!

Reviewme - Earn Money Blogging

From the team behind Text Link Ads comes a new monetisation offering for bloggers and a new advertising channel for marketers - Review Me.

The idea behind the system is simple. Bloggers write about websites and get paid. What they write about and how much they get paid will depend on various metrics, such as the blog’s popularity, page rank etc.,The advertiser pays X to Reviewme, who will give half of that amount to the blogger.

The review requirements are quite simple:

- 200 words or over
- full disclosure ie. that the post is being sponsored

In case you think that advertisers are buying positive feedback you couldn’t be further from the truth:

Can I require a positive review?
We do not allow advertisers to require a positive review. The vast majority of reviews are measuredly positive, although many do contain constructive criticism. We view this as a bonus: how else can you quickly and cheaply get feedback on a product or service from influencers?

I’m not sure how well this new service will work out for bloggers such as myself. I can’t see me writing a review about something that I have no interest in, so I probably won’t be getting rich from it.

The other thing that nagged me already was that you only have 48 hours to write the review. 48 hours is too short in my opinion. I might express an interest in writing an article, but I may not get round to it for several days and I’m sure that I’m not alone in this.

I honestly don’t think that a couple of days one way or the other is going to make much difference to anyone..

Of course the other side of the debate is whether sponsored blogging is good or evil…
A lot of bloggers get up on a high horse about this, but a lot of them forget that they may be blogging for indirect revenue already.. I know I do it to a certain degree (the company blog being the most obvious example)

But what difference does it make whether I declare that I am being paid to write this review of a site that I’d probably have mentioned anyway (the money is an added bonus)?

  • Word.2007.The.Missing.Manual.

Description:

Microsoft Word has grown considerably in power, sophistication and capability over the past decade, but one thing that hasn't changed since the early '90s is its user interface. The simple toolbar in version 2.0 has been packed with so many features since then that few users know where to find them all. Consequently, more and more people are looking for "insider" tips that will allow them to use these advanced and often hidden features. Microsoft has addressed this problem in Word 2007 by radically redesigning the user interface with a tabbed toolbar that makes every feature easy to locate and use. Unfortunately, Microsoft's documentation is as scant as ever, so even though you will be able to find advanced features, you might not know what to do with them.

Word 2007: The Missing Manual, written specifically for this version of the software, explains basics like how to create documents, enter and edit text, format, print, and fax. You will will also learn how to create sophisticated page layouts, insert forms and tables, use graphics, and create book-length documents with outlines and Master Documents. Coverage also includes how to share documents with other people and programs, create web pages, automate documents with fields, and automate tasks with macros and the Visual Basic scripting language. This book shows you how to do it all.

  • Windows Vista - The Missing Manual

Description :

Windows Vista is Microsoft's most important software release in more than a decade. It offers users an abundance of new and upgraded features that were more than five years in the making: a gorgeous, glass-like visual overhaul; superior searching and organization tools; a multimedia and collaboration suite; and above all, a massive, top-to-bottom security-shield overhaul. There's scarcely a single feature of the older versions of Windows that hasn't been tweaked, overhauled, or replaced entirely.

But when users first encounter this beautiful new operating system, there's gonna be a whole lotta head-scratchin', starting with trying to figure out which of the five versions of Vista is installed on the PC (Home, Premium, Business, Enterprise, Ultimate).

Thankfully, Windows Vista: The Missing Manual offers coverage of all five versions. Like its predecessors, this book from New York Times columnist, bestselling author, and Missing Manuals creator David Pogue illuminates its subject with technical insight, plenty of wit, and hardnosed objectivity for beginners, veteran standalone PC users, and those who know their way around a network. Readers will learn how to:

Navigate Vista's elegant new desktop

Locate anything on your hard drive quickly with the fast, powerful, and fully integrated search function

Use the Media Center to record TV and radio, present photos, play music, and record any of the above to DVD

Chat, videoconference, and surf the Web with the vastly improved Internet Explorer 7 tabbed browser

Build a network for file sharing, set up workgroups, and connect from the road

Protect your PC and network with Vista's beefed up security

And much more.

This jargon-free guide explains Vista's features clearly and thoroughly, revealing which work well and which don't. It's the book that should have been in the box!
